Coffee Depots really special coffees

We offer coffees from all over the world here at Coffee depot, from Central and South America, to Africa, India and Indonesia, we have coffee for every palate. Our goal is also to offer coffee that you can’t find just anywhere, and to help do that, we want to let you know about a couple of programs that we are participating in:

Rainforest Alliance

Coffee Depot is a proud member of Rainforest Alliance, an organization that works to conserve biodiversity and ensure sustainable livelihoods by transforming land use practices, business practices, and consumer behavior. Rainforest Alliance believes that the key to ensuring long and healthy lives for people, wildlife, and the planet is by establishing sustainable ways of farming the land. Coffee Depot is offering several coffees that are Rainforest Alliance certified. These coffees are grown by farmers who really care about the planet, their land, and the quality of the coffee they are growing. We have been pretty blown away by these coffees, and we will continue adding more as time goes on. Definitely, if you want some great coffee that supports a worthy cause, check out our Rainforest Alliance certified coffees!

Special El Salvador coffee selections

Coffee Depot is proud to present our collection of coffees from El Salvador. We hope you love these coffees as much as we do! With the exception of our two “Cup of excellence” coffees, they have all been grown by the Salaverria family, who have been growing coffee in El Salvador since 1890. We have had the great honor to spend time with the patriarch of this family, Jose Antonio Salaverria, cupping and learning about his farms and his families farming practices. The amount of care and hard work that is put into the cultivating of this coffee is very obvious. Enjoy!

Cup of Excellence coffees

Coffee Depot is really excited about our first Cup of Excellence coffee, the Guatemalan “El Porvenir”. We were fortunate enough to get a very limited quantity of this coffee that is grown on a 14 Hectare farm in the Central highlands of Guatemala. This coffee was judged by an international jury as one of the best coffees to come out of Guatemala this year. This farm produced less than 3000 pounds of this awesome coffee, and we just got a little bit of that.
We paid a premium price for this coffee and we were happy to do so for two reasons: For one, it’s damn good coffee, and more importantly, the farmer who grew this coffee receives the majority of the money we paid for it, and this has a very direct and positive impact on the quality of life for this farmer, his family, and even his whole community. Often, some of the money received for the Cup of Excellence coffee auctions is re-invested in the coffee farm, further promoting superior quality. We urge you to check out the Cup of Excellence web site and learn more about this great program, and we also urge you to get some of this fine coffee before it is gone forever!

Jamaican Blue Mountain Mavis Bank Estate

Well, what can we say? It’s considered by some people to be the best coffee ever. This is an excellent coffee with a mild, sweet and floral taste. We only have about 25 pounds for sale this year, and we won’t be roasting it until around late November, early December, so if you want some, check with us around then!!!
Needless to say, this stuff is expensive, so we highly recommend that you use great care and the proper equipment such as a French press to brew it. We also strongly feel that this (and any coffee) should be consumed within just a couple of weeks after roasting. Coffees many complex flavor subtleties are so fleeting that many go away forever beginning just a few days after the roast. It would be a crime to let this stuff sit around and go stale, so please, enjoy it while it’s fresh!
